Believe it or not

Our family has “zero pocket money” policy. Kids have learnt that the policy actually fetches much more purchasing power than pocket money can. So we all are sailing smooth.

The eight year old now also understands that under credit card system, people who don’t pay their credit card outstanding in time pay for smart people to use money for 30 days without interest. He understands that a credit card is to be handled with caution.

He jumps on credit card payment date and tells: “Papa, we need to pay up the entire credit bill today so that we can get free money again! Don’t forget or we will be paying for someone else!”

Yesterday evening while he was having snacks, I was reading the newspaper aloud.

“Spend Today, Pay Tomorrow

Forget Cash, Parents Give Credit Cards to Children for Pocket Money”

Continuing with his snacks, he remarked: “Papa, you are reading from ‘Ripley Believe Or Not’ from the paper, don’t you?”
