Knowledge for vengeance

This is a classic example of vaira-bhaava-saraswatee [knowledge for vengeance].

After a couple of days of doing the homework, the little one realized its nature. Today he had to trace the letter ‘e’ – and we were encouraging him to finish. “Honey, finish tracing the letter ‘e’.”

“I am too hungry!”

“Without an ‘e’, we can’t eat. E-a-t!”

“I want to go to sleep!”

“Without an ‘e’, we can’t go to sleep. s-l-E-E-p!”

“My hands ache!”

“Without an ‘e’, we can’t give you medicine. m-E-d-i-c-i-n-E!”

Then my wife tried to give him a happier picture. h-a-p-p-i-E-r. “If you trace all ‘e’s on this page, your teacher will give you a lot of stars!”

Then the little one paused for a moment and then said: “Is that the case?”

“Yes.”

“Then let me trace the whole alphabet! Let her hands ache too!”
