ISRO was planning a mission to Mars to search for symptoms of life. They thought of buying the famous “Mars Microphone” for catching any audio signals.

Raner Pillai approached ISRO. He opined that it would be a waste of money. He suggested to fit a loudspeaker instead.

“A loudspeaker, Mr. Pillai? Why?”

“Simple. Just get there and announce: ‘Is anyone there?’!”
