Why is environment ministry against Lok Pal bill?

The following is a guideline to the Conservation Status of Politicians and Babus against various stages of Lok Pal bill:

  • No Lok Pal bill – Politicians and Babus are “least concerned” species
  • Government version of Lok Pal bill is proposed, passed or implemented – Politicians and Babus are “near threatened” or “conservation dependent” species
  • Jana Lok Pal bill is proposed – Politicians and Babus are “vulnerable” species
  • Jana Lok Pal bill is passed – Politicians and Babus are “endangered” species
  • Jana Lok Pal implemented – Politicians and Babus are “critically endangered” species
  • Jana Lok Pal bill covers the prime minister and top babus – Politicians and Babus are “extinct” species
