In Indian society, where arranged marriages are a norm, searching for a cousin’s (or a sibling’s) life partner is an experience worth cherishing. You list down the characteristic your cousin desires and then list out the candidates you have in mind and then check for each candidate’s background against each characteristic.
In case of my cousin, searching for her groom was painful. She was already over-qualified, a Ph.D. in zoology and a lecturer in a reputed college – and naturally fairly older for the marriage.
What made it worse was her cooking skill – or cooking’s kill.
So the prospective match had to be the usual list – good-looking, earning well, highly educated – and with strong digestive power!
Finally we got her a doctor! If the guy could not digest her food, at least he could cure himself out of it!
