Face it. Most youth leaders from Congress – Rahul Gandhi, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Milind Deora, Sachin Pilot (also Meira Kumar, who is not a member of Congress at the moment) etc. come from privileged class. Even their nannies were born with a silver spoon in their mouths.
According to some, this is the chief reason the government failed to measure the anger against corruption. The hungry youth has realized that Congress is a family business (or even a family’s business) – and has moved elsewhere for opportunity. Who will give the feedback higher up?
Today likes of Ambika Soni are trying to make Rahul Gandhi a hero by suggesting that he interfered with a police decision of detaining Anna Hazare. This shows their confidence that it is not like France before French revolution and “Let them eat cake” moment will not arise in India.
Q: Why will not “Let them eat cake” moment ever arise in Indian politics?
A: Because cake is not an Indian food!
[Readers, do you remember Indian version of “Let them have cake”?]
[Hint: It had to do with Rajeev Gandhi and chillies and Rajasthan.]
