Why eight years are unique

Filed under: All in the Family,Around children — pramath @ 3:53 AM

We were talking with our near-teens older son about admissions in top universities of the United States. I said “Scores in the exams apart, they also like to see your personality.”
More curious that the protagonist, eight year old younger one jumped into the discussion.
“What is personality, papa?”
(This is a golden question by any standard. Simple to ask and damn hard to answer.)
“Uniqueness. They would like to see how your brother is unique.”
“That is easy! Bhaiyya, we will send your fingerprints.”
Educationists first impose uniformity and then ask us to prove uniqueness later. This makes an eight year old more mature than the university system. QED
